Over the weekend, Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter faced the heat at a rally with labor activists.
Of course one particular issue -EFCA – was on everyone’s mind. One of the labor activists yelled at Specter, “You want my vote, I want yours!”
Specter responded, “I believe you’ll be satisfied with my vote on this issue.”
Specter went on to say, “I think you’ll be satisfied with my vote on this issue on union organizing and on first contract just like you’ve been satisfied with the 22 times I voted for Davis Bacon.”
It’ll be interesting to see whether the compromise Specter is working on is “satisfactory” to labor as he promised.
