The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette‘s Anya Sostek is reporting that a 9,000-member local of the Service Employees International Union has been put into trusteeship — by its own leaders. The local union officials weren’t sure they could handle the impending doubling of membership, which follows a major card check organizing win for them.

We suppose there’s something to be said for calling in for assistance, but this is more like throwing your hands in the air and giving up.
