Privacy for terrorists but not for KY workers?

In the third and final debate between Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell and union puppet Bruce Lunsford the candidates clashed on issues dealing mainly with the economy and energy.

But when it came time for the candidates to pose questions directly to each other, we learned that Bruce Lunsford is more than willing to fight for the rights of terrorists but not Kentucky workers. It’s hard to believe, but unfortunately it’s true.

Lunsford has been an avid supporter of the deceptively-named Employee Free Choice Act, which would strip workers of their right to a private vote when it came to the issue of unionization. Lunsford, who is beholden to the unions cash and support, wants to take away every last bit of democracy in the workplace by forcing workers to declare their support for a union in public only to help unions increase their membership…otherwise known as forced unionization. In other words, Lunsford wants to take away your privacy. Keep this in mind as you read further.

So Thursday morning, McConnell posed the following question to Lunsford:

“Ft. Campbell of course is in Western Kentucky; it’s right on the tip of the spear in the war on terror. One of the tools that many of us felt would save lives was the terrorist surveillance act. In the wake of 9/11, it was an opportunity to intercept terrorist to terrorist communication overseas. One of the few positions my opponent has been willing to take, and on this he’s to the left of Barack Obama, was that he said he would have opposed the terrorist surveillance act………so Bruce, maybe you’d like to share your opposition to the terrorist surveillance act with this audience.”

Lunsford’s response:

“You can have views in this country. I strongly believe in the right to privacy. I believe it’s why people come to America. I believe it’s what makes America a great country.”

Lunsford goes on to say that he thought the bill needed more “protections” for citizens and then tells the audience, “I will never stop fighting for the right to privacy in America. I think it’s what makes us great.”

So Lunsford wants more privacy and protections for terrorists who are communicating with each other overseas? He wants terrorists to be able to communicate freely because their privacy should be respected?

But he wants to take away the privacy of Kentucky workers when it comes to their vote on unionization?

Let us get this straight, according to Bruce…..terrorists deserve their privacy and workers don’t.

Bruce – we think you’ve got some explaining to do.

Lunsford’s “Special Interests”

Bruce Lunsford has spent most of this campaign accusing his opponent of being beholden to the “special interest” groups and supporting issues that are important to contributors. But what he has failed to realize is that he himself is beholden to one of the largest “special interest” groups in America today – labor unions.

Here’s how it works…..

Bruce needs campaign cash to help fund his third statewide campaign.

The unions need more votes in the U.S. Senate to pass the deceptively-named Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA).

Bruce still needs people to vote for him and still needs their campaign cash.

The unions have an army of 300,000 union voters in Kentucky but need a candidate who will support the EFCA so the labor bosses can harass and intimidate the workers until they have the votes they need to unionize.

Bruce desperately needs people to vote for him and figures that supporting a bill that will strip workers’ rights is a pretty good deal in exchange for their campaign cash and votes. No one will ever know, right?

Bruce decides to support the EFCA.

The unions open their checkbook and give Bruce $120,000 in campaign contributions and unleash their members to canvas areas of Kentucky in support of Bruce.

Bruce is glad he supports the EFCA, even if it deceives Kentuckians, takes away workers’ right to a private-ballot vote and undermines our founding principal of democracy.

That, Bruce — is how your “special interests” work. We suggest that the next time you start to throw stones at your opponent you take a long look at yourself and your campaign cash because this time you’re guilty.

Let the Spin Begin

On Monday United Mine Workers of America President Cecil Roberts will be in Kentucky to visit with his labor supporting crony Bruce Lunsford and foul-mouthed AFL-CIO labor boss Bill Londrigan. We can only imagine the spin these thugs will try to put on the labor’s agenda including the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA).

Labor has already managed to mislead the public simply by the name of the legislation; can you imagine what they will try to do over the next month to force their members and others to vote for Bruce?

Remember when Cecil Roberts spoke to the Kentucky delegation at the Democratic National Convention and then conveniently forced them all to sign a petition to support the EFCA? Then Bruce issued a statement that said he “opposed intimidation in the workplace”, so which one is it Bruce because you can’t support both because that would just make you a hypocrite.

Under the EFCA, union organizers could enter workplaces and employees’ homes to collect signatures on union contracts in lieu of a private ballot election. With this new system in place, employees lose the opportunity to vote their conscience privately, free from intimidation and harassment.

Once the curtain on the ballot booth is removed the harassment begins. So Bruce are you still for the EFCA now?

On Monday, we’re sure that Lunsford, Londrigan and Roberts will stand together to deceive Kentuckians on what the true meaning of the EFCA really is. They will tell you the EFCA is good for the working men and women of Kentucky. They will say the EFCA is necessary to provide a level playing field with businesses.

Whatever their spin is, don’t believe the hype.

Lunsford Tries to Explain His Support for the EFCA; He Fails

As labor unions intensify their efforts to try to elect their crony, Bruce Lunsford shows that he either doesn’t understand what the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA) really is or he is intentionally lying to Kentucky workers about what the EFCA would really do.

In fact, his latest statement confirms that he is indeed supportive of the EFCA, but also states “I oppose intimidation in the workplace and support open dialogue between workers and management. That’s what the EFCA would accomplish.”

Clearly Bruce has taken the union boss’s money and drank their Kool-Aid because that is exactly the opposite of what would occur should this bill become law. Here’s what would really happen…..

What Bruce Says: “I oppose intimidation in the workplace.”

The Truth: The EFCA will take away the private ballot vote and replace it with a forced unionization system, making workers publicly declare their support for a union or sign a binding contract in public. With union bosses standing over their shoulders and knocking on their doors at home I’m sure workers won’t feel intimidated….right Bruce?

What Bruce Says: “I support an open dialogue between workers and management. That’s what the EFCA would accomplish.”

The Truth: Basically how this bill would work is that if a majority of the employees can be intimidated, deceived or cajoled into signing cards the unions get to collect forced dues payments from everyone. Does this sound like “open dialogue” to you?

Bruce Lunsford…You Owe an Apology to the People of Kentucky

On Saturday Bruce Lunsford and U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell faced off in a debate sponsored by the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.  Watch below as McConnell slams Lunsford for his liberal agenda, which includes “more unions…taking away the secret ballot in labor union elections.”  McConnell tells Lunsford he should be ashamed of himself and owes an apology to Kentuckians for his latest accusations during this election.  We think Bruce needs to apologize to the working men and women of Kentucky for supporting the EFCA.

KY Democratic Delegates Forced to Sign EFCA Petition

Sounds like the union bosses are already using their force to pass the deceptively-named Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA). At the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Kentucky union leaders met with union endorsed candidates to discuss their issues, one of which was how they are going to try to dupe the public into thinking the EFCA is a good thing for the working men and women of Kentucky.

They used the intimidation tactics the unions are so well known for and made all of the Kentucky delegates sign a petition in support of the EFCA.

Not surprisingly, Howard Dean, Chairman of the National Democratic Party, praised this forceful move claiming that “unions are the ones making it possible for the union endorsed candidates like Bruce Lunsford and David Boswell to win this November…”
