The hotel alleges Fioretti, whose backing by organized labor helped him unseat Ald. Madeline Haithcock earlier this year, informed Shlomo Nahmias, the president of the hotel, he wouldn’t approve any permits until the strike is settled. The suit claims Fioretti told the hotel president during a meeting on the planned expansion that he made that promise to the union — Unite-Here, which launched the strike on behalf of hotel maids, bellmen, restaurant workers and others.
