Labor Pains: Because Being in a Union can be Painful

Adaptation

The process of change isn’t easy on some.

The Associated Press has launched a three-part series to look at ways “labor unions are trying to rejuvenate themselves in changing economic times.” That largely boils down to stealing the democratic rights of working Americans.

The UAW – our biggest fan – has had the hardest time adapting to the changing world. Perhaps that’s why one member, unhappy that he now has to give back some of the union-created un-competitive benefits package crippling the auto companies, said he felt “growing despair,” “betrayal,” and thought that a recent union vote was “rigged.”
