moneythumbCora Carper, secretary for the 21,000-member International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers, was caught with her hand in the cookie jar. Carper was sentenced to more than three years in prison for embezzling over $500,000 in union funds. As head of its political action committee, she cashed over 300 checks for personal use. Cora Carper was sentenced to 37 months in jail with three years of supervised release.

Carper did not just embezzle $500,000 of union funds, she embezzled over $500,000 of hard-earned money stripped from the paychecks of union members.
