This week we had boots on the ground in Newark to see what people thought about our new campaign against the Newark Teachers Union bosses: they’re protecting bad teachers.

In case after case, Newarkers told us that the schools should be able to fire bad teachers. But, as our research indicates, only five tenured teachers have been fired in four years — a yearly termination rate of .032%. That’s largely the result of the union’s efforts to “support” the Byzantine teacher tenure system. Click below to watch some Newarkers’ thoughts.
