Arizonans Trash UFCW’s Rotten Antics

The story of United Food and Commercial Workers union leaders attacking the Arizona grocery chain Basha’s is an ugly one. The union bosses have used some rotten tactics. Now the people of Arizona are reacting — and are none too pleased. From the Tucson Citizen:

Your take: The union is messing with the wrong Marine. Members of the Citizen’s online community are falling in behind Basha, “a good person who will always treat people right,” in Michael L.’s eyes. “Good for him to stand up to the union if his employees don’t want it.”

But while the Bashas’ chain “takes care of its members, as a family should,” says David V., unions are not viewed as positively. “This union stinks like yesterday’s diapers,” Helmut K. says. Not just the UFCW, says Greg W.: “If you are looking for a life of being a lazy slug and in a job that takes . . . an act of God to lose . . . unions are for you.”
