Lunsford’s labor buddies screen questions about EFCA

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Watch this clip as Bruce Lunsford’s labor buddies screen questions about EFCA and refuse to allow the cameras to get near Bruce.  Don’t we want a U.S. Senator who will answer any questions posed to them by concerned citizens?  Apparently Bruce and his cronies only allow certain screened questions to be asked of him.  Bruce, are you afraid to admit that you support the Employee Free Choice Act?

Chandler’s Explanation (or lack of) for His Votes for Card-Check Legislation

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Check out this video as Rep. Ben Chandler (D-KY) dodges the question and pokes fun at the KY Club for Growth after their Chairman questions his support for the card-check legislation. He must think it has something to do with the “living wage” as many times as he repeats that phrase.

“Pretty much at this stage, I agree with things they ask.”

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Senator Mitch McConnell recently aired Bruce Lunsford’s dirty laundry and called him out on being in total lock-step with the AFL-CIO.

Apparently Bruce agrees!

While speaking at the Kentucky Farm Bureau forum in Louisville, McConnell warned farmers of Lunsford’s ties to union bosses stating that Bruce won’t be for trade agreements that will allow Kentucky farmers to sell their products abroad because the unions won’t let him.

When asked about his support for unions and their agenda Lunsford told reporters “pretty much at this stage I agree with things they ask.”
Lunsford tried to spin his support for unions as being for “middle America” saying that he thinks “the AFL-CIO represents middle America.”

Wonder if he knows that “middle America” along with everyone else still wants the right to a private vote when it comes to unionization? This is just another union agenda item that Lunsford will support because he’s told to by the union bosses despite what the working men and women really want.

Days after Lunsford claimed his support for the AFL-CIO’s union agenda, the AFL-CIO began running radio ads criticizing McConnell and sticking up for their good buddy Lunsford.

Guess that’s what you get when you agree with the unions on things such as the Employee Free Choice Act claiming that what the unions are asking for “are pretty reasonable for middle America.”

KY Governor, Labor Bosses Use Governor’s Mansion for Political Rally

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

Last Thursday, labor bosses from across the state joined Governor Steve Beshear, David Boswell (2nd Congressional District Candidate) and others to gear up for the fall elections.

Beshear used this time and the state funded Governor’s Mansion to promote his idea of Kentucky’s future, which includes sending union-endorsed candidates like David Boswell and Bruce Lunsford to D.C.

Do Beshear and Boswell realize that by aligning with the union bosses and partying with them on the back patio of the mansion they are actually supporting a measure – the Employee Free Choice Act – that would strip workers of their right to a private ballot vote?

Check out how Beshear and Boswell plead for the labor bosses’ help, time, and money to ensure that unions have a stronger voice in Congress.

Media Calls Upon Lunsford to Answer the “Card-Check” Question

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

In today’s Courier-Journal article John David Dyche challenges the candidates for U.S. Senate to answer some questions important to voters that have yet to be addressed during this campaign.

He calls upon Lunsford to give “direct, non-evasive answers to direct questions like these….” Included in Lunsford’s list is the “card-check” question where Dyche asks:

“Do you support a “card-check” bill to certify labor unions without federally supervised secret-ballot elections when they “collect” a majority of signed authorization cards?”

Let’s hope Bruce can explain to the public why he is indeed supporting the Employee Freedom Choice Act and standing with union bosses to take away workers’ rights.

Bruce – we want an answer.

Rep. Chandler dodges “card-check” question

Monday, August 18th, 2008

On Friday at a Lexington business forum, Warren Rogers asked Representative Ben Chandler about his support for “card-check” legislation. After Mr. Rogers explained the legislation and questioned why Chandler supported the measure in 2007, Chandler danced completely around the issue to avoid answering the question.

He addressed the “living wage” and acknowledged that businesses have the “goal to compete in the global economy”…….. we’re not sure he actually knows what he voted for when he voted for H.R. 800 in March 2007. Or maybe he was just too embarrassed to admit in front of 300 constituents that he voted for a bill that removed every little bit of democracy from the workplace.

Chandler knows that while speaking in front of the pro-business community, voicing his support for the Employee Free Choice Act might not go over so well. It’s a shame that he can vote for a bill in Washington D.C. one day and dismiss his actions the next depending on who’s in the audience.

Liberal newspaper whines on behalf of Lunsford

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

It is amazing how the Courier-Journal continues to stick up for Bruce Lunsford. But I guess we shouldn’t be surprised. They’ve been serving as a mouthpiece for his campaign for some time now. In an article yesterday, they criticized the Employee Freedom Action Committee for educating voters on an issue that is important to the working men and women of Kentucky.

The Employee Freedom Action Committee is an organization that is dedicated to telling voters the truth about the deceptively-named Employee Free Choice Act and they are doing so completely within the law. The article described this group as one that citizens should be “concerned” about. What we really need to be concerned about is the fact that the liberal media of Kentucky never whines when a left-wing organization takes its turn on the airwaves to attack a Republican candidate. The tables have turned and the Democrats don’t like it so the Courier-Journal is doing their dirty work.

The point is we are finally having a healthy debate on the rights of Kentucky workers while demonstrating a distinct difference in the candidates for U.S. Senate.

While Lunsford continues to align himself with the union bosses and take their contributions he also promises to advance their agenda, specifically the Employee Free Choice Act which will strip workers of their right to a private ballot vote when it comes to unionization.

This is an issue that Kentuckians need to be aware of before they cast their vote in November.
Let’s hope the liberal media will not try to stifle this discussion any further.

Labor Bosses Continue to Stick Up for Lunsford

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

Kentucky AFL-CIO President Bill Londrigan said the latest TV ads being run by Kentuckians for Employee Freedom “are misleading and are an attempt by an anti-labor front group to divert attention from this terrible economy.”

Funny, because the bill that Lunsford and the union bosses support is actually what’s misleading. The deceptively-named “Employee Free Choice Act” will strip workers of their right to a private ballot vote and replace it with a forced unionized system. This bill passed the U.S. House of Representatives in 2007, but failed in the U.S. Senate.

It’s clear why unions are pressuring members of Congress to pledge support for a forced unionization bill: Union membership has declined drastically over the years and some unions think that if this bill passes they will grow by 1.5 million members a year for the next 10-15 years.

Lunsford has been endorsed by numerous union organizations including Change to Win, AFL-CIO and the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW), so it’s no surprise that he is aligning himself with the union bosses to support this corrupt and deceptive idea.

87% of Americans support a federally-supervised, private ballot election to decide unionization, so why would Bruce want to take that away from workers in Kentucky and across America? What if the election in November were made a public vote….would Bruce still be so quick to align himself with labor? We don’t think so.
