Labor Pains: Because Being in a Union can be Painful

Connie Hair over at Human Events writes about an interview with Sen. John Ensign (R-NV) in which he warns that labor is looking ahead to next year:

They’re going to put every bit if not more resources into the next election because they know that they already have the White House. They can put 100% of their resources into electing Senate Democrats and getting to that magic 60 number. They know they already have the House, they have the White House, they can focus all of their resources on the Senate.

It appears that some environmentalists are jumping on the EFCA train with union bosses. The Sierra Club has come out in favor of EFCA, citing unions’ growing movement toward a “greener economy.”

The New York Times has an article about the alliance of Change to Win and AFL-CIO on immigration reform— an issue the two groups split over in 2007.
