Some of our favorite things are the unintentionally funny efforts by union officials to stay hip. Enter UFCW “Local 8-Golden State,” where the union is a family business for the Lovealls. It is currently run by Jack Jacque Loveall, pictured right, the second-generation chief of the union. (Those who follow the group will get a kick out of knowing the union calls the picture a “mugshot”).

Now the union has decided it needs to communicate in Spanish with its many Latino members. So, of course, they have launched www.UFCWocho.org. Somehow we think this one will be less amusing than ESPN’s The Ocho or Springfield’s Channel Ocho Bee.
